On September 26, 2009, Typhoon Ondoy brought a month's worth of rainfall to Metro Manila and nearby areas in just a few hours, causing severe flooding which resulted in the loss of many lives and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people. This site compiles relevant information about the disaster, including a volunteer-maintained map of persons needing rescue and a list of relief organizations accepting donations, so that more help can be provided where it is needed.
Typhoon Ondoy took the capital of the Philippines by surprise; it flooded most of Metro Manila, no one was spared, the rich and the poor alike felt the the power of nature, everyone was wet, some died, and the rest of the country felt as if they were slapped on the face with the cold reality of nature's wrath. Here are the sad images of Metro Manila after Typhoon Ondoy had its fill.Ondoy Typhoon in Manila, a sort of tropical storm in which hundreds of people fled from their houses to the neighboring provinces this Saturday in the midst of overnight profound rains. This Ondoy Typhoon was horrible enough to frighten the people of the region.
The tragic scenario typhoon "Ondoy" have caused is really devastating. Most of the people don't expect the floods to be that high in their area. But what's the good thing right now is that there are lots of people across tne country and also all over the world that pledges to give money and relief goods to those affected families. I'm pretty sure that many people are also taking its part in helping those calamity victims.
But inspite of this disaster, many people all around the world specially the Filipinos, helped the victims of the typhoon. Many donations came from the different establishments of the country and from different countries around the world. They help sustain the needs of the typhoon victims.
